1 | Install the YOAST SEO PLUGIN
This plugin is pretty great for many reasons but it is also great because it provides a shortcut when applying for rich pins. You save a lot of time by just making sure a little box is checked! Once the plugin is installed find the “SEO” section on your sidebar. Make sure you are on the Facebook tab and the first thing you will see is this “add open graph meta data” which needs to be checked! Mine was automatically checked but just to be sure, go check!
2 | Validate your URL
So now that you know the correct meta data is present on your site, you have to let Pinterest know about it so they can hook you up with rich pin stuff! Go to one of your blog posts (it doesn’t matter which one) and copy the URL. Paste that URL in this box by the big blue button. Now click validate and you are good to go! When I clicked validate, my rich pins were live within an hour. I have heard from other pinners that it took a little longer for them, though!
And hey, if you like Pinterest than you probably understand the importance of using great images when pinning content. If you want 26 free stock photography images (that may include sugary sprinkled donuts) sent straight to your inbox then you can sign up below or simply go to this page.
