Maybe you aren’t much of an advertiser but want to try out promoted pins. I’m right there with you. With this new launch, advertising has sounded even better now that I have a purpose with my business. But Pinterest seems to be a powerhouse when it comes to sending traffic to your website, even without promoted pins! So I can’t even imagine how great promoted pins works when you get to put your incredibly crafted pin in front of more people’s eyes. Even if you do not end up using promoted pins, it is worth getting on the waiting list so that you will always have the option of using them in the future! Plus, this step by step process takes 5 minutes or less so you don’t have a lot to lose!
Make sure you have a business Pinterest account and if you need a reminder of why you should have one then check out my list of the 6 reasons why you should switch to a business Pinterest account! If you need help setting up your business Pinterest account than head on over to my step by step tutorial on how to set one up.

1 | Go to the Ads page on Pinterest
Just press that big button in the middle that says “log in to get started.” I know this is super obvious but it doesn’t hurt to mention it!
2 | “Join the Waitlist” Button
If you are already logged in then you may not even have to push the button that I mentioned in step one. But you should come across a page where it says “Join the Waitlist” near the top under a huge header that says “reach more people with promoted pins.”
3 | Join the Waitlist Link
Now look for the Join the Waitlist link.
4 | Fill out the form + a super important tip
Once all the blanks are no longer blank, then press the blue submit button. BUT … before you press submit there is a super important tip that will get you off the waiting list quicker! The very last question on this form is “How much do you spend on marketing each month?” and for me, there were two options which were less than $20,000 and more than $20,000. You probably, more than likely, spend less than $20,000 each month on marketing your blog or small business. However, mark that you will spend more than $20,000 because Pinterest will immediately recognize “hey, we may get more money from this person so let’s move them through the waiting list faster.” and boom, just like that, you are on the quickest path to getting off that (could be) forever long waiting list! No worries, you won’t be forced to spend $20,000 or even $1 when answering this last question.
5 | And you are now on the waiting list. Congrats!
You’re on the list but unfortunately, not quite able to use promoted pins yet. This could take anywhere from a week to a few months! I suggest being active daily on Pinterest while being placed on this waiting list. Pin at least 10 different images each day to your boards and even add some content, if you have content to add! Pinterest will see your activity and bump you off the list quicker.
While you are waiting to be kicked off the waiting list, you might as well follow me on Pinterest so we can pin each other’s stuff and be friends.
